The North Middleton Township police were called to the motor vehicle crash involving a school bus around 7:35 a.m. on Oct. 23, as detailed in a release by the department.

Officers at the scene found that the school bus was heading to the Carlisle School District with students on board when it was rear-ended.

The bus had been heading south on Spring Road when it stopped before making a right turn onto Fry Loop Avenue — that's when it was rear-ended "by a white pickup truck that was following it," the police said.

"Several of the student passengers sustained minor injuries," the police stated, but none required hospitalization and all were released at the scene.

After the Carlisle School District was notified, a replacement bus arrived at the scene so the students could continue their route to school, the police explained.

The white pickup truck sustained heavy front-end damage as a result of the crash and was towed from the scene by Jerry's Towing. The pick-up driver and the school bus driver were both unharmed according to the police.
